NEW for 2013! Urban Challenge Four

Presented by YMCA and Greenprints Alliance

REALLY NEW!  This is now a FREE event.

The YMCA and Greenprints Alliance want to break down the barriers to being outdoors.

Teams of all ages, families, couples, groups of friends, co-workers, non-atheletes and atheletes alike, will manuver through a Woodstock, GA course that is estimated to be completed in 1-2 hours.  The goal is to accomplish mental and physical challenges through fun and sometimes wacky ways.  Using any type of technology and ingenuity while walking, running or even crawling.  You will have fun, get some exercise and no doubt learn a thing or two about the YMCA and Woodstock, GA.

The fun won’t stop at the Finish Line. Join us following the race in Downtown Woodstock for the Greenprints Alliance Trailfest.  This fourth annual event will feature live music, food, drink and activities for the whole family.

This event is FREE with the primary goal to get you outdoors and moving, but most importantly we are raising awareness for youth obesity and one way our community is addressing it.

Please join us for an exciting time and one that will not be soon forgotten.

Challenge Four Adventure Race

Watch for a late summer/early fall date

For over a 8 years the Challenge Four Adventure Race has provided the southeast with a challenging and very memorable race experience. In 2013 teams of all abilities will compete in a 15+ mile race in which participants will run, canoe (optional), orienteer and bike their way to the ultimate finish in Downtown Woodstock.

Teams have come to expect the best from Cherokee County YMCA events. From consistent communication prior to the race to a well organized, challenging and memorable event, teams can expect the 2013 course to be straight forward, get your feet dirty, raise your adrenaline all inclusive fun.  All racers will earn a race award, fun giveaways and of course the prestige of competing in the 2013 Challenge Four Adventure Race.

100% of the proceeds from this event go to supporting youth at summer camp. Statistics support and show that kids are spending less time in the outdoors than ever before and that the average time spent in front of a digital screen, whether it be TV, video game, computer, etc, is 9 hours per day. As adventure enthusiasts, we know that being out doors not only keeps us physically healthy, but also mentally healthy as well. By participating in this event you are supporting healthy living and youth development by sending children to camp and it is the Y’s social responsibility to ensure that every child has that chance.
